Wisdom Teeth

Wisdom teeth are third molars, located at the four ends of each dental arch. Without sufficient space, wisdom teeth cannot grow (unerupted teeth). If they start erupting late, they might pierce the gum only partially (semi-erupted teeth).

Consequently, most dental professionals consider it far better to extract problem wisdom teeth than to keep them. This can avoid dental complications down the road, such as impaction, pain, cysts or infection.
