Dental Floss

Did you know that without flossing, one third of the surface of your teeth cannot be effectively cleaned? Flossing is extremely helpful in dislodging the bacteria that build up between the teeth, beyond the reach of brushing alone.

Also, keep in mind that bacteria transform first into dental plaque and then harden to become what is commonly called “tartar.” Since this process occurs within 24 to 36 hours, it is vital to floss at least once a day to prevent calculus (tartar) from forming. Since tartar can only be removed by dental professionals, more regular flossing can help prevent the risk of gum infection.

If you have any questions about dental hygiene techniques, our hygienist would be pleased to provide a demonstration.
